Katie Brownell

Katie was raised on a small farm in White Creek NY and was very involved with 4-H and showing Quarter Horses growing up. Katies family relocated to Central FL when she was in middle school and she remained there for 10 years. She attended the University of Central Florida where she received a BA in Elementary Education and taught at South Ocala Elementary School. The summer of 2012 Katie took a camp counselor position while she visited home and absolutely fell in love. She relocated back to NY and changed her entire focus to creating high quality recreational programming with focus on socializing and friendship development.

She got the nickname Brownie the first summer she ran a camp. One camper found Brownell to be a mouthful and her full last name was never heard again! Brownie met Kyle, or BIG Kyle as he was known at camp, when she hired him in 2014. They immediately found they were equally passionate about creating new and exciting games and activities for camp! Brownie currently lives in Wynantskill with her husband, Matt and their three cats Neeko, Oliver, & Teddy.

Outside of the many demands of camp she enjoys cooking for her friends, reading, camping, her house plants and generally any quiet activity! Brownie and Kyle are so excited to bring their vision to life for your family!

Kyle Wright

Kyle grew up in the small local town of Rotterdam NY, playing various sports such as football, basketball and most importantly soccer. His affinity for soccer continued throughout highschool and college when he went on to attend The College of Saint Rose for his Bachelors in Business. Throughout those four years he continued to play collegiate soccer as well as coach for the local club team FC Dutchmen based in Albany NY. He also worked at an afterschool and summer camp program in the Capital Region for several years.

Through these two jobs, he realized his passion was working with kids. Kids have always had a way of brightening his day with the things they say and do, and loves a good game of dodgeball with the kids! Kyle currently resides in Albany with his friends and mouthy German Shepherd named Jax! He still loves to play soccer, go on hikes, sit by a campfire and hang out with friends and family.
